Non-oriented Electrical Steel

Non-oriented silicon steel has excellent magnetic properties and low energy consumption. With its high permeability and low hysteresis loss, it has universal applications in power transmission and conversion.

a It has been common practice for many years to give values of magnetic flux density. In fact the Epstein frame is used to determine magnetic polarization which is defined as:
J = B - μоH
where
Jpeak magnetic polarization;
B magnetic flux density;
μο magnetic constant: 4 π 10-7 Hm-1
H magnetic field strength in accordance with IEC 60050-121.
NOTE The difference between B and J at 5 000 A/m is equal to 0,006T.
b The stated values are valid only for uncoated products. For coated products the values stated in Annex D, Table D.1 apply.
c Other values of density may be agreed at the time of enquiry and order (see Annex C).
