Electrical Steel

Electrical steel, also known as silicon steel sheet, is an important soft magnetic alloy indispensable to the electric, electronic and military industries, and is also the most produced metal functional material, mainly used as the core of various motors, generators and transformers.

Electrical steel has the following desirable properties to support the generation, distribution and consumption of electricity.

High permeability: increased ability to support magnetic fields

Low magnetostriction: low tendency to expand or contract in a magnetic field

High resistivity: reduces core losses by reducing eddy current components

Lower hysteresis loss: low hysteresis loss means less energy is wasted in the form of heat from the AC magnetizing force
