Among the few lightweight automotive materials, aluminum has become the most used lightweight metal material in the automotive industry with its unique performance advantages. Almost all the world's major automobile companies are competing to develop aluminum body parts or all-aluminum bodies. In the total production of aluminum castings, about 60% to 70% of aluminum castings are used in automotive manufacturing.
