This Privacy Policy explains how MOOPEC (“MOOPEC”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal data when you visit www.moopec.com (the “Website”), contact us, or request a quotation. We handle personal data in line with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and, where it applies to you, the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who we are

MOOPEC supplies automotive steel, aluminium alloys, electrical steel (CRGO/CRNGO) and transformer cores, together with processing and supply-chain services.

2. Personal data we collect

  • Information you give us: when you use our contact, quotation, “Tell us what you need”, technical-drawing or subscription forms, we collect your name, company, job title, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, country, and the details of your enquiry. This includes any drawings, specifications or other files you upload.
  • Communications: the content of emails, WhatsApp messages and calls you exchange with us.
  • Technical data: your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referring page, and date and time of access. This is collected automatically by our server, security and spam-protection tools.
  • Cookies: see section 6.

We do not ask for sensitive personal data, and we ask you not to include it in enquiries. The Website is for business users, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

3. How we use your personal data

  • To respond to enquiries, prepare quotations, review technical drawings, and supply samples, products and services.
  • To manage our business relationship with you, including orders, logistics, invoicing and after-sales support.
  • To send you product, market or company updates, but only where you have subscribed or agreed. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To keep the Website secure, prevent spam and fraud, and fix technical problems.
  • To understand how the Website is used and improve its content.
  • To comply with legal, tax and regulatory obligations.

Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are:

  • taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing that contract;
  • our legitimate interests in running and securing our business and the Website;
  • your consent (for newsletters and non-essential cookies); and
  • compliance with legal obligations.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where needed, as follows:

  • MOOPEC offices and affiliates: in Singapore and China, to handle your enquiry and order.
  • Partner steel mills, processors and logistics providers: only to the extent needed to quote, produce or deliver your order.
  • Service providers that run the Website and our communications on our behalf:
    • website hosting (Alibaba Cloud, Singapore)
    • content delivery and security (Cloudflare, Wordfence)
    • spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA and Cloudflare Turnstile)
    • email delivery
    • WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to contact us that way
  • Authorities and professional advisers: where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

5. International transfers

We operate from Singapore and China and serve customers worldwide, so your personal data may be transferred to, stored or processed in countries other than your own. When we transfer personal data outside Singapore (or outside the EU/UK), we take steps to ensure it receives a comparable standard of protection. These steps include contractual safeguards with our service providers.

6. Cookies

The Website uses cookies and similar technologies, as follows:

  • Essential cookies: needed for the Website to work. They support page delivery, security, spam protection and remembering your cookie choice.
  • Optional cookies: used only with your consent, for example to understand how visitors use the Website.

You can accept or reject optional cookies in the cookie banner and change your choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Website may then not work properly.

7. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to business: we keep the related personal data for up to 3 years from our last contact.
  • Customer and transaction records: we keep these for as long as the business relationship continues, plus the period required by tax and company laws (generally 5 to 7 years).
  • Security logs: kept for a limited period.

When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. These include encrypted (HTTPS) connections, firewall and malware protection, access controls, and limiting access to staff who need it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • ask for access to the personal data we hold about you, and how it has been used or disclosed;
  • ask us to correct it;
  • withdraw your consent, for example to newsletters;
  • ask us to delete it or restrict its use; and
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests.

If you are in the EU/UK, you may also ask for data portability, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, email sales@moopec.com with the subject “Personal Data Request”. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within the time required by law.

10. Third-party links

The Website may link to third-party sites, such as WhatsApp or social media. Their own privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for their practices.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the effective date shown at the top.
